PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
ICBP continues to promote awareness of the need for conservation of the environment through several programs, include the following:
- Waste Processing Facilities. To ensure that waste generated is in compliance with required standards, all production facilities are equipped with waste-processing facilities.
- Green Office. Indofood support the application of environmentally friendly office practices at its factories through the following efforts: reduce scrap in the production area as well as several water and power savings programs; reuse effluent from the Waste Water Treatment Plant that is treated by water filter for use in toilet facilities and gardening; and utilize waste paper as material for pulp. Another program includes creating biopore holes and infiltration wells to maintain soil fertility.
- To commemorate Earth Day and National Children's Day, our employees worked with local schools in the tree planting program. This program aims to improve the environmental awareness of employees and their children.
